It was in the middle of a hot Arizona summer day at the East Verde River. Right when I got there, the wind blew my canvas into the water. I immediately jumped in to save my easel and canvas from getting washed downstream. Walking back I realized just how refreshing the water was and decided to continue the painting knee deep in the cool water. I had many wildlife encounters during the 5 day project, including my ankles getting attacked by crawdads and a fly over by a mating pair of Common Black Hawks, who feed on them. It was a great experience! The painting is now on display at House of Joy Gallery in Jerome, AZ.
