Around August of the year 2020, I took a trip down to Texas. Visited Dallas and drove to Austin and in-between stopped at Brenham and Round Top. So I wanted to create a piece that would capture this trip. The design in the background of the painting is inspired by murals and art I came across in Brenham and Austin. The ethnic female figure sitting in a field of bluebonnets is inspired by one of my favorite paintings "Christina's World".
