Painted with Unison pastels on black Uart 400 sanded paper mounted on board; inspiration came while taking a walk at sunset on a road near our mountain cabin; the shaft of golden light hitting the grasses was stunning - the challenge was to convey that bright, rich light without reducing its saturation. The backlit pine boughs provide a counterpoint to this shaft of light.
