Coastal Path

This is a painting of a path through the coastal woods of Florida lit by the afternoon sun of an Autumn day. While sketching in Gulf Islands National Seashore, a sudden flash of sun burst across the scene illuminating parts of the path and trees with a warm light, contrasted with a mysterious darkness at the end of the path, and knew I had to try to capture it in paint!
